Bettersize Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of a leading scientific instrument manufacturer headquartered in China. We specialize in particle size analyzers, powder characterization instruments, and other lab equipment serving research, QA/QC, and industrial customers. With a growing footprint in the U.S. market and a dedicated lab in Costa Mesa, CA, we’re expanding our technical service team.

Position Overview: 

The Service Engineer will be responsible for installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of our bench-top analytical instruments at customer sites and in our Orange County facility. This role is hands-on and customer-facing, and it plays a vital part in ensuring smooth instrument performance and customer satisfaction. You will also help support product testing and logistics tasks in the local office.

Responsibilities: 

• Perform on-site installations, calibrations, and maintenance of analytical instruments.
• Troubleshoot and repair instruments both remotely and at customer sites.
• Provide technical support to customers, sales, and application teams.
• Maintain accurate service logs, reports, and documentation in CRM.
• Be responsible for product inspections, shipping/receiving, and demo inventory management at the Costa Mesa facility.
• Collaborate closely with our R&D and factory teams in China for complex issues.
•  Willingness to travel internationally (annually to China for training) and domestically (~40%).

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree or associate degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience servicing scientific or lab instruments.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude; able to use diagnostic tools and service manuals.
• Customer-facing mindset, clear communicator, and detail-oriented.
• Comfortable working independently and owning the service workflow.
• Valid passport and ability to travel internationally.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Experience: 

• Worked in or with analytical instruments, diagnostics equipment, or lab automation.
• Familiar with particle sizing, laser diffraction, dynamic light scattering, or related technologies.
