Position Overview: 

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Application Engineer who can bridge the gap between technical expertise and customer engagement. This role will play a central part in product demonstrations, application support, and technical support. Based in our Costa Mesa lab, you will collaborate closely with our sales and application teams to ensure excellent customer experience and effective pre-sales and after sales support. Over time, this position may evolve to include expanded responsibilities in sales or product management.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Perform product demonstrations, sample analysis, and technical training for customers in our Costa Mesa lab and at customer sites
• Serve as a technical resource to support the sales team in pre-sales activities, including presentations and proposal development
• Participate in trade shows, technical seminars, and marketing events, helping to prepare technical materials and represent the company
• Support development of application notes, case studies, and other marketing content
• Provide post-sales application support and assist with method development or troubleshooting
• Maintain lab instruments and coordinate testing needs with our HQ technical team
• Travel to customer sites, events, and occasionally HQ (up to 40% travel)

Requirements: 

• Ph.D. or master’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field
• Strong hands-on laboratory skills and experience with scientific instruments
• Excellent communication skills and comfort presenting to technical and non-technical audiences
• Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and with a team
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Familiar with particle sizing, laser diffraction, dynamic light scattering, or related technologies
• Experience in applications engineering, technical sales, or customer-facing support
• Experience participating in or organizing scientific trade shows or technical seminars
