Empowering Futures: Bettersize's Commitment to Education and Social Responsibility

Committed to innovation and corporate social responsibility, Bettersize has placed education at the center of its initiatives.

Bettersize began its educational support initiatives in 2022. In October 2023, the company signed and launched the “Bettersize Scholarship Program” in cooperation with Kuandian No. 1 High School and the Children’s Empowerment Branch of the Dandong Charity Federation. This five-year initiative pledges a total of RMB 5 million, with RMB 1 million allocated each year to help outstanding students who face financial hardship. By 2025, the company has helped 58 underprivileged students successfully begin their college education.

Beyond financial aid, Bettersize offers part-time work opportunities during school breaks, including meals, housing, and stipends for students in need. The company also provides school supplies, holiday bonuses, and care packages to support their well-being.

These initiatives reflect the vision of Bettersize’s founder, Mr. Dong Qingyun, who grew up in the remote mountains of Liaoning Province, China. In 1995, he started the company in a modest 20-square-meter office. Through years of hard work, persistence, and a dedication to learning and innovation, he gradually built the company into what it is today. Having personally experienced hardships, Mr. Dong firmly believes that education and diligence can change one’s life. This belief underpins Bettersize’s CSR mission, guiding the company to help students reduce financial pressures, stay focused on their studies, and improve their lives through hard work.


Company executives visited the homes of underprivileged students

One student had the opportunity to intern with Bettersize twice through the company's partnership with the Children’s Empowerment Branch. During her internships, she received free housing, meals, a salary, and holiday care packages, while gaining hands-on experience. She greatly appreciated Bettersize’s culture of equality, mentorship, and encouragement. Reflecting on her experience, she said, "even small things I casually mentioned—like how my knees hurt if I don’t wear socks to sleep—were remembered. My director would leave the items on my desk before I had a chance to buy them myself." Inspired by this nurturing environment, she chose to join the company as a full-time employee upon graduation. “The support I got from Bettersize motivated me to build a future where I can give back in the same way.”

Building on these education-focused efforts, Bettersize has also extended support to the wider community. The company assists families facing serious illness and poverty, helping them rebuild livelihoods. Over the years, it has actively supported rural schools, contributed to pandemic relief, assisted disabled veterans, and purchased agricultural products from impoverished areas. Altogether, these CSR initiatives represent over RMB 5 million in donations.
