The distance between the small angle detectors and the detector center is very small (about 100μm). The main beam may deviate from the detector center to the small angle detectors, due to factors such as mechanical vibration, thermal expansion, cold shrinkage, and uneven surface. The small angle detectors failed due to saturation and could not detect the scattered light signal produced by the large particles, resulting in the wrong result.
The function of the automatic alignment system is to ensure the focal point of the detector coincides with that of the Fourier lens at any time, so that the detector can effectively receive scattered light from all angles. When the optical system deviates or distorts, alignment system will run automatically. It ensure the accuracy and reliability of the measurement results, and ensure the resolution and measurement accuracy of the laser particle size analyzer.
