Background status could help to estimate whether the laser particle size analyzer
is running normally. If the background value >4 or the column heights in the histogram are uneven, it indicates poor alignment. The background value <0.3 means laser brightness is down. If the background histogram is over 20 channels, it means the sample cell is not clean or foggy formed. If there are background signals at the right side of the co-ordinate, it is necessary to check whether the sample cell and the medium are clean. The background patterns from different particle size analyzer manufacturers
may be different. However, they all work in the same way where the background are the signals received by the detectors at different angles after the laser passes through the sample cell with medium. The background patterns directly indicate whether the particle size instrument
is running normally.
